The Courageous
Prototype Double-Hull Airship · Forge-Built · Emergency Refit
Every alteration mattered. The prototype's double hull and emergency modifications gave Kennothan and her crew the chance to accomplish something the city's ordinary airships could never have attempted.
An Experiment That Became a Lifeline
The Courageous was an experiment before she became a lifeline. A unique Forge-built prototype, her distinctive double-hull design set her apart from the conventional airships of New San Francisco. She carried the Quest of Swords aboard a vessel whose full potential had yet to be tested.
Under Captain Etoween Farrow's command, she was meant to take an expedition beyond the Great Ring. The approaching storm would demand far more of her.
As the weather gathered over the city, Maevra and the Forge Masters undertook an emergency refit. Wings, armor, tail stabilizers, and further structural and flight modifications transformed the prototype. The expedition needed a ship that could survive the storm's violence and ride its winds long enough to escape New San Francisco.
Those hurried decisions proved critical in ways their makers could scarcely have anticipated.
The Courageous
Speeds No Airship Had Achieved
When Kennothan ignited the drive, the Courageous's unusual geometry and newly modified structure made an extraordinary flight possible. Captain Farrow suddenly had a vessel accelerating to speeds no airship had achieved since the military warships and fighter jets of the Trinity Wars.
Wings fitted to carry her through the wind, stabilizers added to keep her controllable, and armor intended to protect her became essential parts of a desperate escape.
Perhaps the Great Architect's hand had guided her design. Perhaps the Prophets had answered the prayers of those aboard. Perhaps brilliant engineering, desperate improvisation, and plain dumb luck had met at exactly the right moment. The people aboard had little time to settle the question.
On that fateful night, the Courageous was the only ship that could carry them clear. Her unique design and the Forge's urgent work saved our heroes — and kept the Quest of Swords alive.
